Spring Clean Guide: Tips, Hacks & Checklist To Make Your Spring Cleaning Easier
Published on 19th Mar, 2026

Step into spring with a fresh and sparkling home! As the days get longer and the sun finally peeks through the clouds, there’s no better time to reset your space. Did you know that Spring Cleaning Day actually falls on the first day of spring? This year, circle March 20th in your diary, it’s the official day to throw open the windows, let the fresh air in, and give your home the deep clean it deserves.
Whether you’re a clean-as-you-go expert or someone who prefers a one-day blitz, we’ve put together the ultimate guide to help you tackle the mess without the stress.
6 Spring Cleaning Top Tips
A deep clean can feel overwhelming if you try to do everything at once. The secret? Break it down room-by-room and use the top-to-bottom rule, always start with the high shelves so the dust falls to the floor before you vacuum!
To clean your microwave without scrubbing, place a bowl of water with lemon slices inside and microwave for 3 minutes. Let it sit for another 5 minutes; the steam will loosen all the stuck-on food, allowing you to wipe it away instantly.
Use a squeegee on your carpets and rugs before vacuuming. You’ll be amazed (and slightly horrified) at how much pet hair it pulls up that the vacuum missed!
For a sparkling shower head, fill a small plastic bag with white vinegar, tie it around the shower head with a rubber band, and leave it overnight. The limescale will melt away!
Don’t forget to scrub the grout. A small grout brush or even an old toothbrush can make your tiles look brand new.
Refresh your mattress by sifting a light layer of baking soda over it. Let it sit for an hour to absorb odours and moisture, then vacuum it off.
