What happens to the money I pay for carrier bags?

Proceeds raised from the in-store charge will be donated to good causes, with Morrisons Foundation being the primary recipient. We will be treating proceeds from the charge for our online customers slightly differently, using them to support our recycling incentive and invest in paper bags as a way to reduce our plastic usage.

We won't be making a penny of profit and the breakdown of their use is available at

Do you deliver shopping without carrier bags?

From 28th October 2019, we'll be removing plastic carrier bags from our deliveries in some regions, and therefore removing the 40p charge customers currently pay to have their items bagged.

However, to keep certain products safe and maintain product quality, we'll still place some items in your shop in paper bags. These items include loose produce, raw meat, fish and bleach.

Once the new bagless service is in place, when your shop arrives at your door, our friendly delivery drivers will be happy to take your shopping directly into your kitchen for you, or, you can have your own reusable bags ready at the door for your groceries to be transferred into.
